Prof. Umar Mahmood is Chief of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, Director of the Center for Precision Imaging, and Associate Chair for Imaging Sciences in the Department of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), and Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Mahmood’s research has focused on translational applications of molecular imaging to guide precision medicine, with an emphasis on the tumor microenvironment, cancer signaling pathways, changes in cancer metabolism, and the interaction of the immune system with tumors. He is interested in applying image information for disease characterization and optimization of individual treatment response. In addition to his roles at MGH, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), and is the RSNA Secretary Treasurer and the Board Liaison for International Affairs. He served six years on the RSNA Research and Education Foundation Board of Trustees to help foster the next generation of imaging researchers. Dr. Mahmood is a Fellow of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) and the recipient of the first annual SNMMI Minoshima Pappas transformational leadership award. He has had a multi-faceted engagement with SNMMI over the years, including serving four years on the SNMMI Board of Directors and as Chair of the SNMMI Scientific Program Committee.
Associate Professor at the University of Bologna since 2006 and full professor since 2017, he carries out his research in the field of diagnostics, in particular Nuclear Medicine. Research interests are mainly focused on the use of PET in oncology, with particular reference to innovative radiopharmaceuticals. Engaged in national and international research projects, he collaborates with numerous institutions, including IAEA, EANM. Author of numerous publications, he has received several awards and recognitions from prestigious Centers and Institutes.
Dr Arif Shaikh is Medical Director/PET at Kettering Network Radiologists, Inc. He is Director of Targeted Radionuclide Therapy who introduced advanced clinical dosimetry (pharmacodynamics and kinetics), Co-founded and led Multidisciplinary Thyroid and Endocrine Tumour Board and Developed Targeted Radionuclide Therapy Clinic. As Director of Cardiovascular Nuclear Imaging he Introduced advanced clinical imaging as routine standard of care. He has extensive teaching experience of trainees in multiple specialties: Nuclear Medicine, Radiology, Cardiology, Radiation Oncology, General Internal Medicine. He has extensive didactic teaching experience both locally at UNC, at national meetings / international venues. He remained part of graduate thesis committees and is involved in mentoring of post-doctorate students in the joint Schools of Biomedical Engineering at UNC and NC State University. He is Radiology Quality Assurance Officer for peer review activities.
Denis Agostini, MD, PhD is a Professor of Nuclear Medicine and Biophysics and a cardiologist who works as a Head of the department of Nuclear Medicine of the Normandy Caen University Hospital in France. He has (co-)authored more than 160 publications in peer reviewed journals and 5 book chapters, mostly related to cardiovascular imaging. Since 2013 he has been a member of the scientific program committee of the annual congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM). He has worked as educational representative of the Cardiovascular Committee (ESMIT-EANM). He remained Member of Editorial Board of EJNMMI and Annals of Nuclear Medicine (2008-2018), French President of Societe Francaise of Medicine Nucleaire (SFMN) congress (2019) and Senior advisor of Cardiovacular Committee Task Force (EANM) in 2018.
Dr. Jing Wang, President of Chinese Society of Nuclear Medicine. Director of department of nuclear medicine of Xijing hospital. Vice-chief-editor of Chinese Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging. Dr. Jing Wang focused on the clinical translation of new molecular probes targeted on the tumor for tumor imaging and radionuclide therapy. Prof. Dr. Yun-Sang Lee, is a distinguished full professor in the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the College of Medicine, Seoul National University. Prof. Dr. Lee is a prominent figure in the field of Nuclear Medicine/radiopharmaceuticals and has made significant contributions to the development of novel radiopharmaceuticals, including 177Lu, 68Ga, and 18F. His past experience includes ten years as Lead Clinician in Nuclear Medicine with the Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust (UK) as Consultant and Head of the departments of nuclear medicine at the Royal Hospital Haslar, St. Mary’s and Queen Alexandra hospitals in Portsmouth. Dr Siraj is an examiner for the Asian Board in Nuclear Medicine, an IAEA nuclear medicine expert, and has worked on the certification and quality panels of the General Medical Council, UK. His speciality interests include nuclear cardiology, neurology, genitourinary medicine, PET/CT, endocrinology, and sentinel node imaging. Dr. Nabavizadeh is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with a research appointment at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He is also the director of the translational imaging unit at the Center for Data-Driven Discovery (D3b) at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the imaging lead of two consortia, CBTN (The Children’s Brain Tumor Network) and PNOC (The Pacific Pediatric Neuro-oncology Consortium) respectively dedicated to biospecimen-driven data generation and precision medicine clinical trials. Martin Satter, PhD is the Senior Molecular Imaging Scientist and PET Physicist at Kettering Hospital [KH]. KH has been at the forefront of PET MI for over 3 decades and represents a unique presence in this field as a community hospital network. Dr Satter and the PET department has pioneered the use of PET MI for use in image-guided surgery for over 25 years. Dr Satter continues to pursue additional PET imaging agents as well as other cutting-edge technologies to assist neurosurgeons and radiation therapists at KH, specifically with brain tumor diagnosis and treatment.
